I have returned from my vacation to California, and I'm here to share with you a little about what I did! I've actually been back for a few days now, but I haven't had time to post until now since I spent two full days hanging out with some family friends - but I'll get to that later. Anyways, enjoy this extremely long blog post!
At the beginning of our trip, we had to cross the Mexican border for a few minutes to get some paperwork done (long story), but don't worry - everything was fine! I wasn't particularly worried, but all my friends were paranoid that we were going to get caught up in something. In New Mexico, we went to the White Sands Monument and the Gila Cliff Dwellings (one of the places where the cavepeople lived a long time ago). We went sledding at White Sands (although it didn't work too well because the dunes weren't steep enough) and we got to see some cave art at the cliff dwellings. I got yelled at by my parents since I was freaking out over all the bees and wasps there (I've had an extreme, irrational fear of bees ever since I got stung when I was seven - it's bad enough to make me get up and run if one comes near me), and I decided that I had to get over that fear since I didn't want to live the rest of my life looking like an idiot. I'll get back to that later. In Arizona, we went to Sedona (which was absolutely beautiful, although Sliderock Park was closed because it had been raining so we went there on the way back) and Montezuma Castle (another ancient home of cavepeople). Then we drove all the way to Anaheim, where we stayed at a super fancy hotel right by Disneyland! We went to Disneyland the next day (the original park), and it was super awesome. My brother has finally gotten (somewhat) over his fear of rollercoasters, so I got him to go on Big Thunder Mountain and Matterhorn and Indiana Jones and stuff. We stayed to watch the fireworks and got ice cream, and the next day we drove down to my old home of Santa Monica, a little city just off of LA. In the time that we stayed there, I had two sleepovers, went to the beach twice (once with my best friend and once with a large group), went shopping at the Promenade, and went out to dinner at a Mediterranean place called Cha Cha Chicken. It was awesome. We went to Disneyland one more thing (this time to the California Adventure park) and I got to go on California Screamin' (alone :( ), drag my brother onto the Tower of Terror, Grizzly River Rapids, Goofy's Flight School, Soarin' Over California, and a bunch of other fun rides. Oh yeah, and we made it through the huge line for the Carsland ride. :D Then we headed back home and stopped again in Sedona to go to the Sliderock Park (which is basically a natural waterslide, since the rocks in the river are so smooth and slippery that you just slide down them) and then we went to an alien museum in Roswell. And now I'm back home!
So, where have I been for the past couple days instead of talking to my wonderful followers who have so patiently awaited my return? :) Well, I've been hanging out with some family friends - and having the time of my life, might I add! My brother's in Cub Scouts, you see (pre-Boy Scouts, for those who don't know), and he met his friend Aaron there. Now they're totally best friends, and our parents are best friends, and I'm best friends with his two older brothers (Jeffrey's my age and the Alec's a year younger), and we all just get along. They're like the second half of my family, and we've only known them for like...a year. I only just met Jeffrey and Alec a couple months ago, and the three of us have only spent 4 full days together in total this summer, but they're like the brothers I never had. (My brother, Adam, hardly ever talks around me and the rest of my family unless it's about Minecraft. It's nice to be able to have an actual conversation with these guys.) Anyways, we went to a really huge waterpark near our city two days ago and spent the entire day there. Aaron and Adam went off with our mothers while me and the guys went off and did our thing. It was fun finally getting to go on all the giant waterslides with somebody, since I come from a family of wimps (excluding myself) and we had a blast. Jeffrey and Alec are totally crazy, and I can undoubtedly say they are the craziest people I have ever met. Actually, that only applies to Jeffrey. Alec is relatively normal in comparison, although still crazy compared to my other guy friends. But I don't mind, because I'm weird as well. :) Jeffrey now has the same sort of extreme fear of bees that I used to have (he got stung the second day we met; we were camping with our little bros for Cub Scouts), and he was running around screaming like a girl while I was just sitting there like a normal person. My mom approved. :) Yesterday they were staying at this huge resort in another city near where we live, since they have this thing called a timeshare that lets them stay in a fancy resort for a week once a year. My brother stayed there overnight, since it was Aaron's birthday and they had a little party between the two of them over at the hotel. My mom and I drove down there yesterday to hang out, and ohhhhh man. I could live there. The size of that hotel room was larger than the places most of my friends in Santa Monica lived in. There was a lazy river, the largest pool I have ever seen, 4 different hot tubs, 2 water slides, a sauna, and a steam room (apparently they're different things!). I basically spent the whole day with Alec, because Jeffrey was off harassing our little brothers. xD We went swimming, ran a mile on the treadmills, laid on the couch watching television (30 Rock, Two and a Half Men, Awkward, various shows on Food Network, and even a bit of that show with Snooki on it just to make fun of her lack of intelligence - finally, someone who likes the same shows as me!), and we talked for like...two hours out on his deck. Alec's so nice and we have a lot in common (cats, music, baking, and tastes in music, TV, and movies, just to name a few), and it's pretty obvious he has a crush on me. I learned my lesson about dating guys I hardly know, though, but he did earn quite a bit of my trust yesterday by not taking advantage of being alone with me in a hotel room for several hours. Who knows, maybe we'll end up together one day... Only time will tell.
Anyways, I've got work to do. I'm definitely going to get out another chapter of Fruit before school starts, since I know I'll have to take another hiatus while I get adjusted to my new school. I also have to compile a CC list for Sunny and Drew for Chocolatte, who wants to download them and use them in a story of hers (which I am incredibly flattered by). I want to get something out with Fabio, too, although I've hardly been playing him and he still doesn't have a wife. Those three things will be my goals - let's hope I get them accomplished before back to school!
It's good to be back. :)
